Every club
has a story.
Some fill stadiums. Some fill a corner of a town.
All of them leave something behind.
A home for those stories.
FC History is an independent football history project, beginning with Stevenage. The ambition is to document clubs across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland: professional and non-league, still playing and long gone.
We’re building the collection one club at a time. That means a small directory today, with space for a much bigger story tomorrow.
Good stories. Proper sources.
We write original summaries and link to the club records, independent archives and published accounts that inform them. Each club page states what it covers and when its sources were reviewed. A selected honours list is labelled as a selection.
Clubs that succeeded one another in the same town will be treated as distinct organisations where the records make that distinction. A predecessor’s honours won’t quietly become another club’s trophies.
Images with a history, too.
Our first edition uses original football graphics. Historical photographs and programme scans will only be added with appropriate permission or a suitable licence, and with a credit and description. Illustrations are never presented as archive photographs.
Independent, and just getting started.
FC History isn’t an official club site and has no affiliation with clubs, leagues or governing bodies. The Stevenage page is the first introduction in a growing collection, with further seasons, people and stories to follow.
